Region IV-A or Calabarzon (acronym for Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) comprises the mainland provinces of Southern Tagalog region in the Philippines. Adjacent to Manila and dubbed as the first regional industrial center in the Philippines, Calabarzon to date is home to nearly half or 30 out of 64 special economic zones (SEZs) and export processing zones (EPZs) operating in the country. Operating in these SEZs and EPZs are all industrial sectors, including car manufacturing and auto-related enterprises which are predominantly Japanese and foreign-owned investments.
